Run the day from the dispatch board

The morning routine: give every job to a crew, put the stops in a smart order, and watch the day happen.

  1. Review the board at open

Dispatch is the screen where you decide which crew does which job today. Every job for the day is on it, with a column for each crew. Anything not yet given to a crew sits on the left where it nags you until you deal with it.

  2. Drag jobs onto crews

Assign by dragging. The crew's phone updates instantly; nobody calls anyone to relay an address.

  3. Put the stops in a smart order

Open the Route Builder from the dispatch board and hit Optimize; each crew's stops reorder themselves to cut drive time between them. You can still drag any stop up or down by hand, because the software does not know that the customer at stop three has to leave by noon. You do.

  4. Insert same-day calls

A same-day booking appends to the end of the crew's route. Drag it into place, or re-run Optimize on the Route Builder to reorder the day. The crew sees the new stop in order.

  5. Watch status flow in

En route, on site, in progress, complete. When a job goes green it is already in the billing queue; you never chase paperwork at five o'clock.
